The former EULEX prosecutor in Kosovo, Maria Bamieh, who had told about suspected cases of corruption within the European Union mission for the rule of law in Kosovo, has returned to Prishtina a few days after reaching a court agreement with the British government to be compensated with 423 thousand pounds, referring to these cases. But, after the conference, she received an invitation from the Prosecutor’s Office of Prishtina to be interviewed as a suspect for the criminal offenses of abuse of office and leakage of secret information.
She spoke about the case of the former secretary of the Ministry of Health, Ilir Tolaj, for which she said she had suspected that it was being tried to be closed by the former chief prosecutor of EULEX, Jaroslava Novotna, and the former president of the Assembly of Judges of EULEX, Francesko Flori. For both, she says there was evidence that they were meeting with mediators.
