The former ambassador of Kosovo to the United States of America (USA), Avni Spahiu, says that the diplomatic and political circles in the USA and the European Union are optimistic that within the next year there will be a final agreement between Kosovo and Serbia. However, he emphasizes that the Government of Kosovo should not accept any half-hearted solution that does not guarantee the full normalization of relations with mutual recognition.
The Kosovar diplomat tells KosovaPress that in the current geopolitical situation, the international community is looking for a concrete result in the dialogue. However, he adds that the first order of discussion is the Serbia’s alignment alongside Russia.
Spahiu for KosovaPress also talks about the liberalization of visas for Kosovo. He says that it is good news that the EU is moving in this direction, but the visa liberalization procedure as a whole takes three to six months.
