The festival in Shtime, Aliu: Folk Fest, a symbol of the union of our national values

Under the sounds of folklore tradition, the first edition of the national folklore festival of songs and dances “Folk Fest” was opened in the municipality of Shtime.

In honor of Youth Day, the Song and Dance Ensemble “Ilirida” with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the municipality of Shtime, has organized this festival, which was said to be a symbol of the union of our national values.

On this occasion, the mayor of Shtime, Qemajl Aliu, said that the organization of “Folk Fest” celebrates not only the wealth of cultural heritage but also the energy and vision of our youth, which, as he says, with their passion they are preserving and developing national artistic values.

Aliu emphasized that this festival is more than a cultural event. According to him, it is a symbol of the union of our values, the strong bond that unites all Albanian tribes, through our unique song and dance.

Likewise, the director for Culture, Youth and Sport, Albana Fazliu, said that this festival is a proof of the commitment to support the extraordinary potential of our youth.

She said that every time they have supported the youth with such activities, for which she promised that they will continue to be by their side every time and more.

The national folklore festival of songs and dances “Folk Fest” has a competitive character. The main prize of the festival, awarded by the mayor of Shtime, Qemajl Aliu, was won by the “Bresana” Ensemble from Opoja.

Apart from these, several other awards were also awarded including Best Dancer, Best Choreography, Best Costumes, Best Singer and others.

Several ensembles participated in this organization with their dances, while the singer Violetë Kukaj was also a guest. /Z. Zeneli/
