Muslim believers today celebrate Eid al-Adha, which according to Islamic tradition honors Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail, as an act of submission to God’s command, before God intervenes through his angel Gabriel and informs Ibrahim that his sacrifice has already been accepted.
The manifestation for the territory of Kosovo dedicated to Eid al-Adha, is held in the Great Mosque in Prishtina starting at 4:19, with the morning prayer, after which there was a thematic lecture, which was held by Hetem Sopjani – chairman of Council of the Islamic Community in Prishtina.
The Eid al-Adha prayer was held at 5:34, which was led by Burhan Hashani – the chief imam of the Council of the Islamic Community of Prishtina, while the Eid al-Adha message was delivered by the Mufti of Kosovo, Naim Tërnava.
On the occasion of Eid al-Adha, the Presidency of the Islamic Community of Kosovo, as traditionally, organizes a reception at its headquarters from 09:00 to 12:00.
The Islamic Community of Kosovo wishes all Muslim believers Eid al-Adha, asking God to accept Hajj, sacrifice, prayers and worship.
