The decline in production and export, Krasniqi: The government urgently needs to review the fiscal and stimulus policies

The Chairman of the Chamber of Trade and Industry, Skender Krasniqi, has called on the Government of Kosovo to urgently make deep changes in fiscal policies, especially in the production and trade sector, to promote the growth of local production and export.

In an interview for KosovaPress, Krasniqi, while saying that there is a lack of cooperation between the Government and businesses, emphasized that the lack of fiscal changes has hindered the country’s economic growth, while other countries have taken important measures to stimulate their economy in this difficult global period.

He pointed out that the interventions of states to support their economies and citizens have resulted in fewer losses for businesses and easier coping with the situation by citizens, a situation that is not happening in Kosovo.

In this regard, Krasniqi has said that the state should come to the aid of families so that they can more easily overcome the increase in prices, as well as create real offers for foreign investments and also for tourists.

While he says that the government should be more cooperative with businesses, he says that the VAT should be reduced in order to encourage the arrival of tourists, as is happening in the countries of the region.

Speaking about the challenges of businesses, he says that there is a huge lack of state support.

Meanwhile, regarding economic development, he says that in this direction, a national agency should be created in order to create a better strategy regarding the promotion of Kosovo.

In order not to leave the qualified cadres, Krasniqi considers that the “hand of the state” should be felt more among the same; otherwise this departure will be worrying for the country.
