The confession of the mother who remained without greeting her martyred son in Koshare

These days, the 25th anniversary of the glorious battle of Koshare is being marked, and moments of those great days are being remembered even today.

The Battle of Koshare took place within the framework of Operation “Arrow”, between the Kosovo Liberation Army and the former regime of the butcher of the Balkans, Slobodan Milosevic. In this battle, 114 martyrs of the nation fell to never die.

Among those who remember this great day is mother Nazlie Loku. Every April 9, she takes the road to Koshare to quench the longing for her martyred son. She stands next to the grave of Abush Loku, who together with his comrades, 25 years ago, set out to defend the homeland.

Mother Nazlie remembers the last moments with her son. She says that the whole family were refugees, while Abush Loku, like many others, made the big decision to defend the homeland. Nazlija, filled with pain, says that her son died in the prime of his youth – the age of 21.

Life for mother Nazlie continues with the other five children, two sons and three daughters, but every morning she waits at the window of the house for Abushi to return.

The martyr’s mother, Nazlija, tells moments of pain before parting with Abushi and the gift that the latter left as a memory as if he knew he was taking a path of no return.

The 25th anniversary of this successful battle of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) was marked with several activities, in which heads of state also participated, as well as wreaths were placed at the Memorial Complex in Koshare, Gjakova.
