The Central Election Commission (CEC) voted with 10 votes to suspend the political entity “Graðanska Inicijativa Gore”, this is because this political entity did not hold the Electoral Assembly on the previous date, which was June 20 of this year.
But it has been given a deadline of 45 days to keep the same.
Director of the Office for Registration, Certification and Financial Control of Political Parties, Besnik Buzhala, was the one who gave this recommendation, saying that the Assembly should have been held on June 20.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the CEC, Kreshnik Radoniqi, indicated that this recommendation was voted for by 10 votes, which caused this political party to be suspended.
At the meeting of the Central Election Commission, director Besnik Buzhala recommended the registration of the political party, “Progressive Movement of the Roma of Kosovo”.
Besnik Buzhala emphasized that this political subject is a parliamentary subject which also benefits from financial means from the Fund for the support of political subjects.
Meanwhile, Arianit Elshani, a member of the CEC from the Democratic Party of Kosovo, asked to know if there are entities that have not completed the registration process.
According to Buzhala, the Progressive Movement of the Roma of Kosovo is the last subject to be registered as a citizen initiative. Therefore, he said that if the members decide to register, it becomes a political party.
And, after this discussion, the “Progressive Movement of the Roma of Kosovo” was registered as a party with 10 votes for.
Further, the members of the CEC have approved the recommendation for the deprivation of the benefit of financial means from the Fund for the Support of Political Entities for the political entity Ashkali Party for Integration for the year 2025. Buzhala said that they came to the conclusion that the political entity did not cooperate with the auditor’s legal office.
