The campaign for February 9th elections, VV promises greater investments in defense

The Vetëvendosje movement officially opened its election campaign in Gjakova tonight with promises of more jobs, support for businesses and investments in defense.

Prime Ministerial candidate Albin Kurti said that with Vetëvendosje in power, “we made an independent Kosovo independent also from the corruption of old politicians and from old bargains with Serbia.”

“The energy of our people, the potential of this youth are needed to develop our country, to lead and regulate the state, we are the institutional opportunity for this country. Therefore, for the youth we have employment, for women equality, for children allowances, for the opposition we have the opposition, for Serbia we have the police and the army, for the elderly, pensions, and for everyone we have healthcare. So, each in his own place. With us in government, with our governance, the main trading partner in the region is Albania and our orientation is European and Euro-Atlantic. With our governance, we made independent Kosovo independent, even from the corruption of old politicians and from the old bargains with Serbia… We do not do things out of spite for our northern neighbor, we do things because we love our country… We cannot change geography and history, but the future by working now… We will increase production, and we will increase export, we will make a program for tourism… We will increase social cohesion through financial support for grandmothers and grandfathers who take care of grandchildren from one to three years, in cases where both parents work, because grandparents are raising two children for us and our children, so the state will support them. We will have even greater investments in defense, commitment to other enterprises as well”, said Kurti.

The Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, and at the same time candidate for MP Glauk Konjufca, has praised the country’s economic growth and the fight against corruption during four years of government.
