The Ambassador of Great Britain in Kosovo, Nicholas Abbott congratulated the citizens of Kosovo on the 14th anniversary of its citizenship. The British Ambassador wrote, “I would like to congratulate all Kosovars who are celebrating Independence Day today.”
Today Kosovo celebrates the 14th anniversary of Kosovo’s Independence. The Declaration of Independence of Kosovo was made on February 17, 2008 at 15:39 in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo. In an extraordinary meeting attended by 109 MPs out of a total of 120, the Assembly of Kosovo unanimously declared Kosovo an independent, sovereign and democratic state. Kosovo’s declaration of independence and declaration of independence was made by the former Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, while the president at the time was Fatmir Sejdiu.
