The Assembly of Kosovo with 89 votes in favor has ratified the partnership agreement for the financial framework with the European Commission for the agreements for the implementation of the financial aid of the Union for Kosovo within the framework of the pre-accession instrument (IPA III). All parliamentary groups supported this agreement.
Meanwhile, the deputy prime minister, Besnik Bislimi, said that its goal is to create a legal basis for Kosovo to benefit from European Union funds.
“The purpose of this agreement is to create the necessary legal basis for Kosovo to benefit from the European Union funds provided within the framework of the pre-accession instrument, or IPA III funds, for the annual IPA programs 2021-2027. The agreement as such constitutes a framework agreement, while for the special annual programs we will conclude financial agreements separately for each program. Where we will then specify the projects, sectors, funds and implementation modalities for each of them. This paves the way to conclude other agreements to benefit from EU funds”, said Bislimi.
