Our compatriots from 1999 until now are estimated to have sent over 40 billion euros to Kosovo in various ways. This contribution of the diaspora by experts on economic developments is considered very important for maintaining economic and social stability in Kosovo.
Whereas, according to the governor of the CBK, Fehmi Mehmeti, only this year remittances from compatriots reach about 800 million euros or 13 percent more than in the previous year. Economic expert Safet Gerxhaliu says for KosovaPress that the diaspora has been and continues to be the main pillar of state stability of the Republic of Kosovo.
