The Tax Administration of Kosovo (TAK), supported by the USAID program for Economic Governance in Kosovo, today (Wednesday) launched three new electronic services, which include the interactive guide, tax calculators and reporting of tax irregularities. These services will affect the facilitation of tax compliance, where citizens and the Tax Administration will be able to contribute to the collection of tax revenues for the budget of Kosovo.
Also, these three electronic services will help taxpayers to assess tax obligations, improve understanding of tax compliance and report tax evasion and irregularities electronically.
The Deputy Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Avni Zogiani, said that these services are aimed at improving the tax services offered to citizens, as well as contribute to the internal reform of TAK.
He emphasized that they have signed an agreement with the World Bank in the amount of 20 million euros, through which the interconnection of electronic systems, data protection, as well as the increase in the number of services provided by public institutions are foreseen.
Meanwhile, the director at the Office for Economic Growth in USAID, Alexander Albertine, said that the launch of these services will further improve the experience of taxpayers.
He said that it is very encouraging that through these benefits that have been made, TAK continues to improve services for taxpayers, while he expressed sure that TAK will benefit a lot from this.
Among other things, Albertine congratulates TAK, as he said, for the extraordinary progress made in recent years to improve the services provided to taxpayers and citizens.
Meanwhile, the executive director of the Tax Administration of Kosovo, Ilir Murtezaj, said that USAID’s support in raising the capacities of TAK dates back to the establishment of TAK.
Murtezaj emphasized that despite the difficulties, TAK continues to increase the number of taxpayers, increase the quality of services and expand the range of services.
He emphasized that TAK takes care that the security of tax payers is at the same level, while adding that as an institution they are trying to reduce the costs of tax administration, increasing internal efficiency through the automation of work processes.
We are also aware of the great responsibility that the implementation of digital tools brings. As an institution, we are making efforts to reduce the costs of tax administration more and more by increasing the internal efficiency through the automation of work processes”, emphasized Murtezaj.
Meanwhile, among others, these three services which include the interactive guide, tax calculators and reporting of tax irregularities will affect the collection of tax revenues for the budget of Kosovo in a more efficient and transparent manner.
