Special Court without transparency and with major shortcomings

The lack of transparency, shortcomings in respecting the rights of defendants, excessive editing and late presentation of evidence, are some of the problems that the Kosovo Law Institute has highlighted in the report issued by the monitoring of the work of the Special Court. KLI also says that the continuation of investigations after the confirmation of the indictment and the filing of new indictments in the middle of the court proceedings, creates uncertainty for the accused.

Following the publication of the report, KLI, among others, recommended to the Specialist Chambers and the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office to implement accountability to the citizens of Kosovo in practice.
