Simmons: EULEX did little to investigate war crimes in Kosovo

Former President of the Assembly of EULEX Judges Malcolm Simmons has said that very little has been done to investigate war crimes in Kosovo, although in 2014 he leaked documents including information on Serb suspects and all personal data of Kosovar victims. Reporting to the Committee on Legislation, Simmons said that the main purpose of EULEX’s work over the years in Kosovo has been sentencing and not fair trial.

“These crimes were committed in Kosovo against the citizens of Kosovo by people of Serbian ethnicity, many of whom are not citizens of Kosovo. When I discussed this issue with EULEX, they said that the Serbian authorities do not have the resources and the will to investigate these crimes,” he said.
