Rama blames Putin for the war: He wanted to erase Ukraine from the map within a day

The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, in the opening speech of the Summit between Ukraine and the countries of Southeast Europe, blamed President Putin as the cause of the war in Ukraine.

At the start of the summit, a video with messages of solidarity from world leaders for Ukraine was shown.

Rama said that Putin’s old imperial dreams are what caused the armed conflict. According to the head of the government, the Russian leader wanted to erase Ukraine from the map within a day, but he did not succeed, because on the contrary today Ukraine is closer than ever to the European Union.

He from this forum has called on Russia to stop the war, as they want a peace that respects Ukraine and its rights.

Rama added that rewarding an aggressor, who annexes the territories of a sovereign country by disarming the victim of aggression does not bring peace, but lays the ground for more war.

According to him, the vision that led to the creation of the EU today guides the Western Balkans in the journey towards the future, a future that can only be achieved in peace by standing and working together and resolving our differences in a peaceful, constructive way on behalf of future generations.
