On the second day of the Summit “Environment, Society and Governance”, focused on the topic “Transition to the green economy” organized by Raiffeisen Bank, a fair was opened through which about 40 new businesses presented their business activities that contribute to the green agenda.
Participating businesses have seen this fair as an opportunity to promote their work towards the green economy, but also to raise awareness of this transition.
Antigona Bejtullahu, head of the Department for Sustainability and Communication at Raiffeisen Bank, indicated that in addition to the discussion panels, within the ESG Summit, the bank has also included the possibility of promoting new businesses in various fields.
“We have conceived the summit in such a way that new and innovative businesses can also be given space to show their creative ideas, especially in the areas of innovation and technology used for the green transition… For the other part we had sustainable or regenerative agriculture, i.e., we have businesses that deal with new agriculture in the new way, not in the old way as before, we use natural pesticides, meaning the way we produce fruits and vegetables are much more natural. Then we had the circular economy, which is one of the key points for the Kosovo market, but we as a bank probably have the key focus on helping businesses to move from a linear economy to a circular economy where all their production is waste-free or minimal waste “, said Beitullahu.
Furthermore, Bejtullahu emphasized that there are about 40 participating businesses in this fair, among them there are clients who have financed these businesses in terms of green transition.
“We have 40 businesses here, 17 of them are completely new businesses that have applied, whereas the rest are our clients and we have invited them to show us along with all the participants of the Summit, what their ideas and plans are… those who are not partners of the bank, we supported them in various forms through BOODS UNDP, or other accelerators or incubators. Whereas others who are our clients, we finance them in loans related to ESG criteria, which have a positive impact and we expect this impact to grow and this is the aim of the fair, to see their ideas, support them and promote them”, she said.
The co-founder of the “Enchele” company, Bajram Ilazi, emphasized that their products are aimed at increasing energy efficiency and Raiffeisen Bank has played a big role in their development.
Ilazi says that through fairs like this one today, awareness is being raised about the green economy.
“The company deals with system developments for the optimization of energy consumption in buildings, commercial and residential offices. The system is intended to increase the efficiency of energy consumption by releasing the air conditioner itself and stopping it according to the needs and requirements… and in this way it achieves energy savings of up to 30% compared to existing systems on the market… It creates new contacts, people become more aware, these are very good for promoting the existing products that the companies have and, in this way, a certain network is created between the potential customer and the businesses…. We are a client of Raiffeisen and during the whole process of business development, we have been a client and we have had a very good time with Raiffeisen and their services, and their vision is very much in line with our objectives as a business”, said Ilazi.
Rreze Vorfi from the hydro-sanitary company “Viola” emphasized that through this fair they are being offered the opportunity to promote the heat pump they produce, a product that affects energy efficiency.
“It helps us a lot and that’s why we are very grateful for the presentation of our company in other countries. The company “Viola” deals with the marketing and production of hydro-sanitary equipment, but the main goal today is to introduce thermal pumps. Really, the main goal is the efficiency of electricity, that’s why we came today,” she emphasized.
The other participant in the fair within ESG Summit from the company “Deniviki”, Denis Ademi, emphasized the role that the fairs have in promoting their work, which affects the reduction of pollution in our country.
“Such fairs help us a lot because we are a new company, we have been in business for 2 and a half years. Fairs are very necessary for businesses because they promote their products and the work they do…. This has a very good effect because there is no need to pollute either nature or the environment, these are recycled and thus the environment is cleaner for everyone”, he said. Adam.
The Summit “Environment, Society and Governance”, focused on the topic “Transition to the green economy” was held on June 15 and 16. Raiffeisen Bank organized this summit to mark the 20th anniversary of this bank’s operation in Kosovo.
