Producer and import prices rise in Kosovo

The producer price index and import price index for the fourth quarter of 2024 have marked increases in prices compared to the fourth quarter of 2023 and those of the third quarter of 2024.

The Kosovo Agency of Statistics announces that the overall producer price index in Kosovo rose by 0.1% between Q4 2024 and Q3 2024. Meanwhile, comparing Q4 2024 to Q4 2023, producer prices rose by an average of 8.5%.

“Production prices in Kosovo increased by an average of 0.1% between Q4 2024 and Q3 2024. Largest increases by branches of economic activity are observed in: production of motor vehicles (transport), trailers and semi-trailers (12.8%); production of furniture (8.4%); water collection, treatment and supply (3.2%); food processing (0.8%); production of beverages (0.3%); electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (0.1%); and production of chemical products (0.1%),” the KAS report states.

According to the Agency, the increase was neutralized by the decrease in prices in: ores and other quarries by 5.2%, manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment by 3.9%, extraction of metal ores by 3.2%, manufacture of metals by 2.4%, manufacture of rubber and plastic products by 1.3%, and manufacture of wood and products of wood and cork, except furniture: manufacture of articles of straw and plaiting materials by 0.1%.

Meanwhile, according to KAS, the annual increase in production prices is 8.5 percent.
