Presidential elections in North Macedonia; this is the number of citizens who voted until 09:00

The State Election Commission (SEC) of North Macedonia announced that by 09:00, 3.85 percent of citizens had voted for the presidential elections.

The chairman of the SEC, Aleksandar Dashtevski, said that all polling stations have been opened and that the process is going without irregularities.

According to him, some technical problems have appeared in some centers, but they will be solved very soon.

Problems have arisen in some polling stations in the city of Kumanova.

In addition, he announced that the next conference of the SEC will be held at 13:00.

The citizens of North Macedonia today decide on their next president. This is the seventh presidential election, whereas the possible second round will be held together with the parliamentary elections on May 8. Polling stations are scheduled to open at 07:00, whereas voting will last until 19:00. Voting takes place in 3480 polling stations throughout North Macedonia. Meanwhile, the total number of voters registered in the Electoral List is 1,814,317.

The opposition VMRO DPMNE will compete in the elections with the current MPs Gordana Siljanovska*Davkova. The Social Democratic League, the ruling party, will compete with the current president, Stevo Pendarovski. In the election race, the Democratic Union for Integration will compete with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bujar Osmani, whereas the united Albanian opposition will compete with Arben Taravar, the current mayor of Gostivar. Maksim Dimitrievski, the mayor of the municipality of Kumanova, Stevçe Jakimovski, the mayor of the municipality of Karposh in Skopje, and Biljana Vankovska, candidate of the “Left” party, will also be part of the election race. /KosovaPress/
