Kosovo Police has denied the news published in a Serbian media, that allegedly near the border crossing point in Brnjak, the Special Unit from Prishtina beat three Serbs, saying that it is not true, and it aims to misinform the public, to present a situation of insecurity for citizens, as well as to fulfill various externally oriented political ambitions.
In the reaction of the police, it is said that in order to properly inform the public, through this official announcement, it denies the tendentious and untrue news published in the Serbian media, a media which is constantly publishes such misinformation.
“The next news, published today (23.09.21) by this medium, that allegedly near the border crossing point in Brnjak, the Special Unit from Prishtina beat three Serbs does not stand, is untrue, and aims to misinform the public, to present a situation of insecurity to citizens as well as to fulfill various externally oriented political ambitions. It is worth mentioning that the Kosovo Police, as a law enforcement institution, in all cases, undertakes all actions in accordance with the Constitution of Kosovo and applicable laws, to guarantee public order and security, including enabling the free movement of people and goods at all border crossing points. Therefore, such information, after official verifications has been proven to be untrue, as there was no contact with any protesters at the border crossing point, but the police unit, along the way, verified three trucks, namely their drivers, who drove behind the vehicles of police officers, endangering the safety of officers and police operation, in which case the officers stopped, verified and then released all three drivers of Kosovar nationality, who were instructed to report to the police station South – Mitrovica. The Kosovo Police will continue its commitment and dedication, in the implementation of the laws and the constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, in the interest of maintaining public order and security in the country and to all citizens without distinction.
