The MP of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Ardian Kastrati, has placed a banner of the Minister of Education, Arberie Nagavci and the member of the leadership of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Dejona Milahit, as well as the logo of the publishing house “Albas” in the floor of the Assembly of Kosovo, saying that millions were stolen through it.
He had a clash with the Minister of Education, Arbërie Nagavci, for which the latter was accused of stealing millions in the process of subsidizing school textbooks for students.
Kastrati called the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti and Minister Nagavci “liars”.
Among other things, he said that subsidizing students with textbooks is a scenario through which corruption and organized crime have been committed.
Regarding these accusations, Nagavci said that it is impossible to discuss about the textbooks with the speakers that, according to her, the PDK has chosen, while she said that this party has no idea how the textbook supply process works.
Nagavci said that she is looking forward to the formation of the Parliamentary Investigative Committee regarding this issue, and that according to her it will be possible to investigate the abuses and misuses that have been made by other parties during the years that they led the Ministry of Education.
Among other things, Nagavci said that an auditor’s report will be published very soon, which will show the misuse of millions of euros in the digitization process.
Meanwhile, the Democratic Party of Kosovo has requested the establishment of the Parliamentary Investigative Committee for the process of subsidizing the purchase of textbooks and teaching aids for students of primary and lower secondary education for the 2023-2024 school year.
