The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) has requested a parliamentary debate regarding the findings of the United States Department of State (USDS) report. The head of the parliamentary group of this party, Abelard Tahiri, said that the findings are worrying for the Government of Kosovo. He requested that the agenda be completed with a motion for a parliamentary debate, as he invited MPs to support such a thing. The other opposition parties also agreed with this, but not the ruling party, Vetëvendosje Movement. For this motion, 26 MPs voted for, 40 against and one abstained.
Tahiri requested that this parliamentary debate begin after parliamentary questions and statements outside the agenda.
Further, Tahiri requested that the agenda be completed with a motion for a parliamentary debate
Tahiri also said that this previously published report talks about violence against journalists and against women.
The head of the parliamentary group of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Mimoza Kusari Lila emphasized that this report has some small omissions. She proposed that a special session be scheduled to discuss this report.
Meanwhile, the head of the parliamentary group of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Arben Gashi, said that today the Assembly should discuss the findings in the USDS report.
Even the head of the parliamentary group of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Besnik Tahiri, has agreed to hold a parliamentary debate.
According to him, this report is the identity card of the Kurti Government and that this issue is important to be discussed in the Assembly. /Sh. Pajaziti/
