Over 4,000 vehicles with illegal license plates are registered in the RKS

From November 1 until today, a total of over 3,250 vehicles that were previously registered by the Serbian authorities with the acronyms of the cities of Kosovo, such as KM, PR, etc., have been registered in the RKS. If 800 vehicles registered from previous years are added to this, then the total number of vehicles registered in RKS reaches over 4,000.

This was announced by Veton Elshani, acting police director for the northern region.

According to him, the number of vehicles being registered during the postponement period is very small, so the police see no reason to postpone the deadline, but as he said, if the government decides otherwise, then the police will respect the decision.

He emphasized that in the event of the circulation of any vehicle with illegal license plates even after December 15, the police will react immediately by treating the vehicle first as unregistered, whereas the second time, the police will confiscate them.

On the other hand, the number of citizens who waited on Wednesday in front of the technical control center in the north of Mitrovica was very small.

Tomislav Zhivkoviq, a citizen from the north of Mitrovica, tells KosovaPress that the general situation and the newly created circumstances require that citizens who have decided to live in these areas must respect the rules here.

He called the financial value that must be paid for vehicle registration cheap, until he said that for him it is very expensive the fact that they can no longer use the old license plates.

Zhivkoviq said that during the first time he was in a dilemma whether he should register his vehicle or not, whereas now he has finally decided to do so, so as not to have any trouble.
