The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, at the invitation of the President’s Institution, today participates in the inauguration of the new president of the Republic of Albania.
Osmani will participate in a ceremony that will be held at the Presidency of Albania, in which the current president, Ilir Meta, will hand over the office to the new president, Bajram Begaj.
Former soldier Bajram Begaj will become the head of the state, as 400 guests will be present at the inauguration ceremony.
Among those present, there will be chiefs of staff of the NATO armies, with whom Begaj collaborated when he was in charge of the General Staff.
Among the guests there will be doctors, academics and a few politicians. The novelty of this ceremony is taking place on the boulevard “Dëshmorët e Kombit” and not at the entrance of the Presidency building.
Both presidents, the outgoing one and the newly elected president will take their seats in the stands. The performance of the national anthem will be accompanied by 21 cannon shots, and immediately afterwards the president of the Constitutional Court, Vitore Tusha, will hand over the country’s Constitution to President Begaj.
The new president of the state is expected to deliver a speech, officially marking the departure from office of Ilir Meta.
