The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, on the eve of the official start of the Compact Program, today met Mr. Cameron Alford, Vice President of Compact Operations at the U.S. Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC)
According to a press release from the Presidency, the meeting discussed the official start of the Compact Program, in which case, President Osmani emphasized that the grant of over 200 million euros from the MCC will profoundly transform our energy sector. Furthermore, President Osmani said that this program will make a strategic contribution to improving the energy infrastructure, strengthening the private sector, as well as promoting economic opportunities for the citizens of Kosovo.
In this spirit, President Osmani expressed her gratitude for the continuous support of the MCC, while emphasizing that the Compact Program is the largest investment in the field of energy and serves as evidence of the strength of the Kosovo-USA partnership.
The President also emphasized that this program will guarantee an energy future where women will have a key role and will be active contributors in addressing future challenges in the field of energy.
