At the launch of the “Week for the Rights of Crime Victims”, the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has called for a more proactive role of justice institutions in the prevention, investigation, prosecution and more effective trial of criminal offenses against sexual integrity.
In this Week, which also has the motto “Moment of Reflection of the Institutional Chain”, efficient institutional cooperation in the protection of crime victims was requested.
President Osmani has criticized the justice institutions for the lack of effective response to cases of sexual assaults, for which she said that this is emboldening criminals.
The head of state said that this week should be seen as an incentive to work with dedication for the prevention and uncompromising punishment of the perpetrators of sexual crimes and any other type of crime.
