On the 19th anniversary of the death of former Kosovo president Ibrahim Rugova, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, along with the diplomatic corps in the country, paid homage at his grave.
President Osmani, while calling Ibrahim Rugova the founding father of the state of Kosovo, said that his contribution will serve as a guide.

“He made an extraordinary contribution to building the strong foundations of our state, in an extremely difficult time, when the people of Kosovo were at risk of being exterminated. At that time, President Rugova not only brought all citizens together around the cause of freedom, democracy, independence, but at the same time became the voice of Kosovo in the world, building powerful alliances that were most appreciated in those difficult times… President Rugova’s vision was far-sighted, he was an extraordinary politician who brought to politics its human dimension, the dimension that was unfortunately missing for a long time, which is why he remains not only an example of vision and policymaking in Kosovo, but also around the world”, said Osmani.
