During online learning, some children had difficulties learning online, they mainly had to use on their parents’ phones.
In co-operation with the municipality of Leposavic and the great humanism of Miodrag Radovanovic from the village of Kamenica near Socanica, for children without a parent, dozens of municipalities in central Serbia provided laptops to make online learning easier. On the other hand, regarding the high school “Nikola Tesla” in Leposavic, in cooperation with the municipality, telephones and laptops were provided to a smaller number of children, whose parents could not provide them with these devices.
Miljana Milosavljevic from Tvergjen in the municipality of Leposavic, thanks the municipalities for giving her son a laptop, an excellent second grader, and made it easier for him to attend online learning without hindrance.
“My son is now in the second grade, in January he received a laptop, the sponsor was the municipality of Pecinc, I thank them very much, our municipality has initiated this project, so I thank the municipality, it means a lot to him. He was in online learning, and therefore it means a lot for him for him to have it, even though it is an older laptop, it means a lot to him. The internet is a little weak internet, but it does not matter, it helped him during online learning. He is an excellent student, he has learned to use the laptop, and it means a lot to him when he attends classes online. It means a lot to him”, says Miljana Milosavljević.
She adds that the municipality has promised assistance to single mothers in the future.
“Since I am a single mother, they have supported all single mothers, I expect more, they have promised to help single mothers, the municipality of Pecinc and other municipalities that can,” added Milosavljevic.
The director of the high school “Nikola Tesla” in Leposavic, Slagjan Radovic, says that the beginning was difficult, but about 10% of students were equipped with phones and laptops very quickly.
“We have been fighting the Covid-19 pandemic for three years now. The beginning was a bit difficult, you know, until we got used to it, etc. About 10% of the students had problems, they did not have internet, they did not have mobile phones, they did not have laptops, so we as a school, in cooperation with the municipality provided these students with mobile phones, some students were also provided with laptops, so in any case, all students could attend online learning”, said the director of the high school “Nikola Tesla” in Leposavic.
Although they were forced to enter online learning due to the pandemic, all were found very quickly, despite some minor difficulties. It is assumed that some practices that have been proven to be good will certainly remain. Whether this will remain in the spotlight, remains to be seen after the pandemic.
