On the day of Eid al-Adha, there is a call for love for the homeland

Muslim believers are celebrating the holiday of Eid al-Adha in Kosovo as well. From the early morning they went to the mosques to pray for Eid al-Adha, where they also listened to lectures, while the message was the preservation and protection of the homeland, solidarity with the needy, but also more economic development. Whereas, married couples were called to have more children.

The manifestation for the territory of Kosovo, dedicated to Eid al-Adha, was held in the Great Mosque in Prishtina, where it began with the morning prayer, after which there was a lecture, which was held by Hetem Sopjani, chairman of the Council of the Islamic Community in Prishtina.

The Eid al-Adha prayer was led by Burhan Hashani- the chief imam of the Council of the Islamic Community of Prishtina, whereas the Aid al-Adha message was delivered by the Mufti of Kosovo, Naim Tërnava, who said that the expression of patriotism in daily prayers is a natural feeling because it is an inexhaustible gift.

He also prayed to God to restore peace in Palestine and Ukraine.

On the occasion of Eid al-Adha, the Presidency of the Islamic Community of Kosovo, as traditionally, organizes a reception at its headquarters from 09:00 to 12:00.

The celebration of Eid al-Adha, according to Islamic tradition, honors Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail, as an act of submission to God’s command, before God intervenes through his angel Gabriel and informs Ibrahim that his sacrifice has already been accepted.
