Skenderaj was one of the municipalities where the competition in the local elections was strong and often with harsh language, but it was closed in the first round. PDK won the municipality that is considered as their stronghold with Fadil Nura mayor, who won against former mayor Bekim Jashari. Nura’s candidacy was seen as against the Jashari family, but the new mayor of Skenderaj denies such a thing. Nura also talks about the situation in which he found the Municipality.
