The Kosovo-Serbia dialogue did not have concrete results even in 2022. The successive crises and tensions between Kosovo and Serbia deepened the polarization between the parties even more, despite the fact that during the past year the Franco-German plan for the dialogue also came to light. The peak of tensions reached in December, where for three weeks the roads in the four northern municipalities were blocked by barricades set up by illegal structures and local Serbs there. With only two high-level meetings, between Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, the final agreement was far away even last year.
However, during 2022, Kosovo managed to impose reciprocity on Serbia in terms of placing stickers on license plates and also on identity cards, where they forced Serbia to remove additional documents for Kosovar citizens who entered its territory. Meanwhile, it got stuck in the removal of illegal Serbian license plates in the territory of Kosovo.
