Minimal interest of coaches to take the direction of Kosovo in boxing

The representative of Kosovo in boxing has been without a head coach since August 19 of last year. This is after the former selector, Besim Brahimi, resigned, citing several reasons, such as lack of financial support, disagreements with the Board of the Boxing Federation, but also the interference of the federation’s leaders in the selection of athletes who participate in international competitions.

The replacement of Brahimi has not been done yet, even though the Boxing Federation has recently announced a competition to find the new coach of Kosovo. Even after the opening of this competition, there was very little interest from the local coaches.

The Secretary of the Kosovo Boxing Federation, Latif Demolli, has confirmed for KosovaPress that only three candidates have appeared in the competition and that, according to him, this is regrettable.

The lack of a regular salary is considered to be one of the reasons for the lack of interest on the part of candidates to take this position. But, the former coach of Kosovo, Besim Brahimi, has also found remarks in the way of working within this federation.

Seeing this disinterest of local coaches, Demolli has revealed that they have asked the World Boxing Federation to send a foreign coach to Kosovo.

The decision on the appointment of the new Kosovo boxing coach is expected to be made within a few days./A.Bytyqi/
