The Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation has decided that also this year the subsidy for the purchase of school textbooks and school supplies will be provided by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, like last year. However, she does not know how much the book prices will be, nor the overall cost that will cost the ministry for this subsidy.
In the e-Kosova system there will be two modules, the one for students from the first to the fifth grade, who benefit 80 euros for textbooks and school materials, as well as the second module for students from the sixth to the ninth grade, who benefit from 110 euros.
Minister Nagavci said in a press conference that all parents can apply to e-Kosova.
Although she admitted that there are challenges in the field regarding the process of subsidizing textbooks, she emphasized that last year they sent a letter to the municipal directorates and they did not have any complaints.
Nagavci is also justified by the fact that they are continuing to subsidize textbooks where the cost is much higher, unlike in previous years.
She added that she is welcoming the report of the investigative commission on subsidizing school textbooks, believing that it will be a professional report, but as a minister she guaranteed that it was a transparent process and without any misuse.
The Deputy Minister of Education, Taulant Kelmendi, announced that there are 218,689 students who benefit from the subsidy for textbooks and school supplies, including the 5-year-olds who are enrolled in the first grade. However, he said that it is not known what the prices of the books will be, nor the total cost that will be incurred by the ministry for this subsidy.
In this conference, it was said that some textbooks have been revised and will continue in the future.
