The Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure (MESP) has decided to suspend all memoranda signed between this ministry and the municipalities of Kosovo during 2021. This was announced at a press conference by the deputy minister of this department, Hysen Durmishi, who said that they came to this decision because these memoranda have not been well analyzed, and to increase the budget for the completion of some projects that have dragged on for years.
Only during the first three months of this year, he said that memorandums have been signed with municipalities in the amount of 18 million and 500 thousand euros. Durmishi also said that they have a lot of expropriation debts, which is causing them many problems in the implementation of contracts as the expropriations have not been completed on time, and now any delay in these payments is paid with interest.
