For the first time in the energy strategy for 2022-2031, there will be an increase in the percentage of women in the energy sector to at least 25 percent.
This was said at the launch of the “Energy for Equality” project by MCC/MCA in Kosovo, an activity aimed at empowering women in the energy sector.
The Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, has said that the expectations were that only 9 percent of the workforce in the energy sector in Kosovo would be women and now it will be up to 25 percent.
Meanwhile, the MCA Kosovo CEO, Florina Duli, added that through the ‘JETA’ project, they will break these barriers, creating paths for women to progress in the energy sector through guarantees and technical assistance.
Likewise, the Director of JETA Project, MCA-Kosovo, Hamit Qeriqi said that the grant program offers financial support to companies in three different categories, small, medium and large, including civil society organizations.
The Managing Director, Sector Operations at MCC, Kevin Mitchell, said that this program invests towards an energy future that is more affordable. /A.Shala/
