The number of women in the security sector remains very low. In the Kosovo Police there are 50 percent women, while in the Ministry of Defense 26.83 percent. The lowest number of women is in the Kosovo Correctional Service, only 13 percent are women employed in correctional staff. Despite global and regional initiatives, the security sector continues to be considered the “territory” of men.
