After the declarations of the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, that the draft proposed by the EU special envoy Miroslav Lajcak be reviewed by the Venice Commission, the country’s president Vjosa Osmani said that such an idea has not yet been presented to her.
Osmani said that whenever this idea is presented to the president’s institution, it will be reviewed. According to her if it is considered that this helps the Republic of Kosovo, there is no reason not to support it.
Osmani also spoke about expropriations in the north of Kosovo.
According to her, in the process of these expropriations, she does not see any tendency for discrimination on ethnic grounds, while according to her it is being acted on the basis of the laws of Kosovo and on the basis of the standards of the European Court of Human Rights.
The head of the country said that she supports any decision that is in the interest of national security and all citizens without distinction.
The decision of the Government of Kosovo on the expropriation in the north, there were objections from the local Serbs as well as reactions from the countries of the Quint, the EU Office in Kosovo and the mission in Kosovo of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
