It has been a week since the Special Prosecution requested the Basic Court in Pristina to order the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, to appear before the Prosecution as a witness in a case related to suspicions of misuse of state reserves.
However, it seems that the body that administers justice has not yet made a decision on this request, which came from the prosecution after Kurti had rejected the two previous subpoenas.
KosovaPress has requested a response from the Basic Court in Pristina as to whether any decision has been made regarding the SPRK’s request, but as of the time of publication of this article, it has not received a response.
Experts in the field of justice consider that the Criminal Procedure Code has not set a deadline within which the court must respond to the Special Prosecution’s request, but the 30-day deadline is considered sufficient to decide on this matter.
Former President of the Court of Appeal, Hasan Shala, states that in this specific case, 30 days are sufficient for the preliminary procedure judge to make a decision on the Special Prosecution’s request.
