The Vetëvendosje chairman, Albin Kurti, said that the demonstrations of 1981 were the starting point for the rights of Albanians seeking the status of a Republic for Kosovo.
After participating in activities in honor of the 40th anniversary of the demonstrations, Kurti said that what was special about it, was that the students were organized and aware as never before to demand freedom and constitutional equality like other peoples.
