The new recognitions and integration process of Kosovo remained a challenge even 15 years after the declaration of independence. The state continues to face what is known as Serbia’s campaign to de-recognize Kosovo, as well as efforts to prevent the state’s membership in various international organizations. The ruling party says that the challenge of the pandemic, the energy crisis, inflation and the dialogue process have influenced the slowdown of these processes.
Shortly before the state completes 15 years of independence, the Government of Kosovo has formalized the request to become part of the European Union and the Council of Europe.
The process towards the Council of Europe has progressed quite a lot, says the chairperson of the Commission for Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Arbreshë Kryeziu, but according to her, these are developments that should be kept closed in order not to damage the process.
