The Chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Memli Krasniqi, said that June 12, 1999 is one of those days that everyone remembers what they were doing.
In the solemn session of the Assembly, in honor of the 25th anniversary of the Liberation of Kosovo, Krasniqi said that on that day someone was abroad, someone scared or sheltered, but a selected category of the people was with a rifle in hand, fighting for the liberation of the country.
Krasniqi said that these soldiers were ready to die for freedom, following the example of the brightest torch in our national journey, the legendary commander Adem Jashari.
Remembering the sacrifice of KLA leaders who are in The Hague, such as Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi, and Rexhep Selimi, Krasniqi said that this is evidence that freedom is not guaranteed and that it must be fought and defended every day.
The PDK chairman said that these men are a living testament of the unstoppable efforts that freedom and the state require.
Krasniqi called on them to stay strong, as according to him, history will never be able to be changed and that “the sun will rise again”.
