The Chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Memli Krasniqi, says that the Kurti Government is the weakest and the most incompetent in Kosovo. According to him, under Kurti’s governance, education and health have degraded, whereas economic development has stagnated.
The opposition leader in an interview for KosovaPress has criticized Kurti that he has not drafted a draft status of the association, while asking him to take a decision on the draft proposed by Euro-Americans, which he calls extremely harmful for Kosovo.
Given these circumstances, Krasniqi is convinced that early elections will be held in 2024, while he considers the warnings of a frontal war with Serbia to be fanning the flames for no reason by Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
The chairman of the PDK emphasizes that Kurti’s room for tactics regarding the association has been minimized, so in the first months of 2024 he must make a decision to accept or reject the draft proposed by the Euro-Americans.
He considers that the association draft creates a new level of power in Kosovo, as it has clear executive powers.
Krasniqi sees the emergence of differences between Albin Kurti and Vjosa Osmani more as a political tactic, as he says that the president does not have an active role in the dialogue.
According to him, association and dialogue is a heavy burden for Prime Minister Kurti, therefore early elections are on the horizon during 2024.
On the other hand, he states that there is always the potential for a security breach in the north, but the warnings of a frontal war for a long and armed conflict are just fanning the flames by Kurti to avoid real attention from Kosovo’s internal problems.
