Krasniqi: Finger marking with distinguishable color is easily erased

The marking of fingers with distinguishable color is easily erased, increasing the risk of double voting, said Albert Krasniqi from Democracy Plus.

“This represents a step backward compared to the previous practice of using invisible ink, as citizens could fall victim to pressures to vote or not vote,” he wrote on Facebook.

He also raised concerns about the voting booths, stating that they are lower, and voters sit on a bench, “which increases the risk of violating the secrecy of the vote, especially when another voter is standing.”

Earlier on Sunday, the chairman of the Central Election Commission, Kreshnik Radoniqi, said that the relevant company has provided regular markers after those with color that could be erased.
