Kosovo-Israel cooperation deepens, Gërvalla honors the victims of the Holocaust

During the second day of her visit to Israel, Foreign Minister Donika Gërvalla was received by her Israeli counterpart, Yair Lapid.

At the beginning of the meeting, as announced by the press release, Gërvalla expressed the high consideration for the state of Israel by the Government and people of Kosovo, assessing the recognition and establishment of diplomatic relations between Kosovo and Israel as a very important event for Republic of Kosovo.

Minister Gërvalla briefed her counterpart on the overall development and progress achieved in Kosovo, the commitment of the Government of Kosovo for peace and stability in the region and the strategic orientation for Euro-Atlantic integration.

During the meeting, Gërvalla thanked Minister Lapid for the very warm reception and willingness expressed to deepen cooperation in all fields, including economics, education, technology and innovation, education, science, culture, cinematography, evidenced by the signing of cooperation agreements. in the respective fields.

Also, in continuation of the visit to Israel, Gërvalla, visited today the Yad Vashem memorial center in Jerusalem, wheres he got acquainted with the shocking history of the Holocaust, documented in a very impressive way in this memorial center.

During the official ceremony, Minister Gërvalla lit the permanent flame and laid a wreath on behalf of the Republic of Kosovo. Afterwards, Minister Gërvalla visited the pavilion built in memory of the one and a half million children killed during the Holocaust and after a note in Albanian in the Memorial Book addressed the audience with a short speech.

This visit marks the first visit of a representative of the Republic of Kosovo to the most important center in memory of the Holocaust.
