This year, Kosova Police has prioritized that, in addition to engaging in usual tasks with the aim of creating a safe and peaceful environment, it has increased its operational activities in the field, in order for the year-end holidays to end without incident and have the best possible start to the new year, 2024.
The police, through a communique, emphasizes that for the management of the security situation during this period, they have prepared the operative order “End of the year – 2023 and the beginning of 2024”, where through this planning additional commitment of the Kosova Police, increase of the police presence on the streets is foreseen and open spaces, in squares and locations frequented by citizens, where it will be possible to prevent and combat negative phenomena and various criminal acts.
“The undertaking of preventive police measures to ensure that the end-of-year holidays pass without any incident, will also include the undertaking of legal measures against possible illegal actions and the fight against negative phenomena that cause instability in the country to any extent that endangers order, peace and public safety, where the police presence will be increased throughout the Republic of Kosovo, including sensitive areas, especially in those locations with a mixed population. The Kosova Police, within the framework of this plan, has also foreseen an increase in vigilance and police presence on the road, traffic controls in order to prevent road accidents and possible traffic incidents, thus appealing to all citizens of the country, to respect legal provisions, traffic signs, and adhere to road conditions and not drive vehicles under the influence of alcohol. The Kosova Police appeals with special emphasis to every parent to be more careful and vigilant in preventing the irregular use of pyrotechnic devices, especially by children, in order to avoid the danger that explosive devices/fireworks can cause, where as a result of not using them adequately in the past, incidents with serious consequences have been recorded, otherwise the Kosova Police will take all immediate legal actions wherever it notices that weapons or other illegal means have been used that endanger the safety of our citizens”, reads the communiqué.
