The joint committee for missing persons from the recent war in Kosovo will hold its first meeting in Brussels on January 15. The families do not expect any results from this meeting as they say that Serbia continues to neglect the process to clarify the fate of the forcibly disappeared persons.
Ahmet Grajqevci from the Coordinating Council of Families of Missing Persons, says that this humanitarian issue should not be linked to political issues.
“This meeting is also in the continuation of the same meetings, just with a different name, which they have brought out as a meeting that will produce results. But, we as families do not expect any results from this meeting either, because we are dealing with a state that is meanwhile neglecting the process of missing persons issues. This has been in a political phase since 2004, this has already passed as a political problem. The humanitarian issue must not be linked to political issues because this should have been resolved a long time ago. But, Serbia does not have the will, and we do not expect any results from this meeting, we are skeptical about this”, says Grajqevci.
