Emigration is an old wound that still hurts and the great love for the homeland is not forgotten, this is best proven by the children of immigrants who have always felt the love for the country of origin even though it is miles away.
The Albanian-American Besa Tafilaj, born in Texas to an Albanian father and an American mother, had a similar fate, but never forgets her love for Kosovo. With an emotional confession, Tafilaj has shown the feelings, emotions, difficulties and great love that bind her to our country.
Tafilaj has nostalgic memories from the vacation period in Kosovo, before the last war in Kosovo.
But the war did not stop her visits to the Albanian lands, she decided to come to Kosovo and see everything up close, but she was shocked by what her eyes were seeing, burnt houses, including her own. While now this thing has changed for the better and she notices this year after year.
This made Tafilaj take the path of becoming a journalist, reporting from there on the events that happened after the war in Kosovo. Through her profession as a journalist and her patriotic family, she was able to be even closer to her origin, even though it was not easy.
Her reporting was not only from Texas and North Carolina of the United States of America, but she had also come to Kosovo, where the news was conveyed to foreign media from Bondsteel, in Ferizaj.
She also told how she now sees Kosovo’s relations with Serbia from her perspective, emphasizing that she sees the situation as calmer but that it is delicate to go through, but she is confident that this will end well.
It is worth noting that the Albanian Besa Tafilaj is now the Executive Director of the National Association of Military Families of the USA, and the daughter of the activist, philanthropist and well-known publisher, Ramiz Tafilaj.
