The safety of workers in their workplaces still remains a concern. During 2020, 16 workers died in their workplaces. The construction sector remains the most dangerous. While the inspection of all workshops is impossible due to the limited number of labor inspectors.
Chief Inspector of the Labor Inspectorate in Kosovo, Agim Millaku, told KosovaPress, that the situation in the private sector is not satisfactory and that the labor inspectorate is having difficulties to change this situation, as there is a small number of inspectors on the ground, which also makes it impossible to supervise the law enforcement by employers.
