The US Ambassador to Kosovo, Jeffrey Hovenier, participated in the annual Conference of Prosecutors, where he addressed with a speech.
Hovenier, among other things, has said that he is impressed with what the prosecutors have done during the past year despite the challenges they have faced.
He said that prosecutors have shown great commitment to use their tools to increase efficiency in their work.
He emphasized that the power that prosecutors brings a great responsibility to seek justice based on the law.
Speaking about the criticism that comes their way, Hovenier said that it is frustrating that prosecutors face criticism even from the governors because of their work.
In his speech, he called for the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council to ensure a fair, transparent and meritorious process for the selection of the next chief prosecutor of the state.
