The Ambassador of the United States of America in Prishtina, Jeffrey Hovenier, has today asked Kosovo to implement all the commitments it has made in the framework of the dialogue, as according to him, this is the only way for integration in the European and Euro-Atlantic institutions.
The American diplomat at the conference with the topic ‘Charting Kosovo’s Path: 25 Years after Operation Allied Force and the Quest for NATO Membership’, organized by the Council of Ambassadors of Kosovo, emphasized that he expects the Government of Kosovo to work in partnership with the US.
He emphasized that the American people have been and are proud to stand side by side with the people of Kosovo.
As for NATO membership, Hovenier said that the path to expansion is to convince the allies of what Kosovo brings to the North Atlantic Alliance.
Speaking about NATO’s 78-day campaign to drive butcher Slobodan Milosevic’s forces out of Kosovo and end their ethnic cleansing, Hovenier said that they remain committed to ensuring that the war that took place in Kosovo 25 years ago is never repeated.
In the framework of this discussion, former president Atifete Jahjaga was also present, who emphasized the need for Kosovo’s membership in NATO.
