Hamza reveals which parties PDK is negotiating with for possible coalitions

The Prime Minister candidate from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Bedri Hamza, stated that there are talks with the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, the Social Democratic Initiative, and other parties for possible coalitions.

“Until now, we have had no official communication with the Vetevendosje Movement,” said Hamza.

In a press conference on Friday, Hamza mentioned that there are no red lines for any party.

“We are fine with some political parties, we are at the stage where we can talk about the formula for forming the government. With the LDK, we are not yet at the stage where we have discussed the formula for forming the government,” added Hamza.

According to him, based on the geopolitical situation, Kosovo needs institutions.

Hamza stated that if the first party cannot form the government, he is willing to take responsibility as the Prime Minister of Kosovo.

Hamza submitted his request to the Central Election Commission (CEC) yesterday to give up his parliamentary mandate.

In the assembly, Hamza will be replaced by the parliamentary candidate Rashit Qalaj.

The Central Election Commission yesterday certified the final results of the February 9 elections. According to the certified election results, the Vetevendosje Movement won 42.30%, the Democratic Party of Kosovo 20.95%, the Democratic League of Kosovo 18.27%, and the AAK-Nisma coalition 7.06%.

This result secures the Vetevendosje Movement 48 deputies in the Kosovo Assembly, the PDK 24 deputies, the LDK 20 deputies, and the AAK-Nisma coalition 8 deputies.

According to the results, no party can form the government alone.
